McKenna-Amec saboteurs in Palo Verde Nuclear Plant

Arizona [Public Service] Nuclear Plant on Lockdown By CHRIS KAHN
PHOENIX (AP) — The nation's largest nuclear power plant was put on lockdown Friday after a contract worker entered the facility with something that security was "not comfortable with [pipe bomb]" a spokesman said. Security officials detained the worker at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station and were conducting an investigation. The incident was considered an "unusual event" — the lowest of four emergencies the plant can declare, said Jim Melfi, an inspector with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Officials did not say what the worker brought to the plant. There was no threat to the public, said Palo Verde spokesman Jim McDonald. Palo Verde, operated by Arizona Public Service Co., is the nation's largest nuclear power plant both in size and capacity. Located in Wintersburg about 50 miles west of downtown Phoenix, the plant supplies electricity to about 4 million customers in ArizonaNew MexicoTexas and California.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1920156/posts
AMEC has been assisting FEMA Radiological Emergency Preparedness Branch (REP) for 20 years. In this capacity, AMEC has performed an independent technical evaluation of every US commercial nuclear power plant alert and notification system (ANS). Activities include technical review of ANS design, maintenance, operation and testing versus FEMA regulations and guidance; observing and evaluating field testing of sirens; performing siren system computer modeling and serving as subject matter expert to REP and to FEMA regional personnel. AMEC also provided a similar technical review of Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) ANS.  Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Security – USA  AMEC performed a sabotage analysis of the Bryan Mound SPR. Study team analyzed the complete spectrum of facilities, potential sabotage consequences and spectrum of potential saboteur types. Study resulted in ranking of facility categories in terms of potential sabotage hazards. [Wake up America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] http://www.amec.com/earthandenvironmental/2ndlevel.asp?pageid=1107
